Marcus and I just got back from our trip to Kernville in the Sierras. We had a great time hiking and visiting nature. We hiked over 10 miles on Saturday. Our legs are so tired! We saw so much wildlife though. We saw deer, squirrels, a fox, lizards and the highlight - a bear! A big bear! Here we are standing in front of the bridge over the Little Kern River. It was the turn-around point for the hike. We took a much needed dip in the river when we got there. Of course, it was all down-hill for the first half of the hike, and all up-hill on the way back, but the river cooled us off.
Sunday, we took a nature walk through the Trail of 100 Giants. The walk goes through giant Sequoia redwood trees. It was beautiful. Here's a picture of us standing in front of one that is probably over 1000 years old!
